Polylog PR has successfully completed a project for the preparation and running of the APEC CEO Summit, which was held in Vladivostok on Russky Island, on September 7-8, 2012. Polylog acted as the Technical Directorate of the Summit providing venue development, logistics, catering, accreditation of participants, technical support and supervision of contractors.

Besides, the company dealt with a number of issues such as interaction with the media partners, work with the Summit speakers, support of online resources and social pages, maintenance of applications for mobile devices, running presentation events and controlling mobile press center during the Summit. The APEC National Business Center was an official operator on organization and arranging of the APEC CEO Summit.

Polylog PR runs large-scale international events and it is one of the company’s key competencies in the communications consulting and PR market. As a general contractor, Polylog PR held more than 20 major events, including two Law Conferences, the Global Policy Forum in Yaroslavl in 2009, 2010, 2011, two international Tourism Forums “Visit Russia”, a series of foreign presentations of the investment potential of federal constituent entities with the participation of up to 600 representatives of business and government authorities of the host countries.

This year, the APEC CEO Summit is considered to be the second largest international event in Russia which involved the participation of Polylog PR. From June, 24 to July 6, 2012 St. Petersburg hosted 36 Session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee where the functions of the Technical Directorate were successfully completed by Polylog PR.

The APEC CEO Summit is an annual business forum for representatives of the Asia-Pacific business elite, held as a part of a series of meetings organized for Heads of State and senior government officials from all APEC member economies. At the Summit, business leaders have the opportunity to share their views and search for solutions in an open multilateral dialogue with government leaders.

The APEC CEO Summit was held for the first time in Russia in 2012. The Chairman of the APEC CEO Summit is Andrey Kostin, VTB Bank President and Chairman of the Management Board. Over 700 CEOs from 545 largest companies in the Asia-Pacific Region participated in the APEC CEO Summit. There were delegates from Australia, Brunei, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Chinese Taipei, China, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, the Republic of Korea, Russia, Singapore, the USA, Thailand, the Philippines, Chile, and Japan. The most representative delegations were from Russia (over 190 companies), China and Hong Kong (over 170 companies) and the USA (40 companies).

In the APEC Business Summit was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Hu Jintao, President of Mexico Felipe Calderon, the U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, President of Chile, Sebastian Pinera, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Truong Tan Sang, President of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Prime Minister of New Zealand John Key, Chief Minister of the administration of Hong Kong Liang Chzhenin.

The program of the APEC CEO Summit consisted of 24 plenary and breakout sessions. Managers and experts of big international consulting companies, editors and TV presenters of leading Russian and foreign media moderated the APEC CEO Summit.

A popular TV presenter at Russia Today Peter Lavelle held one of the most memorable debates “Has capitalism lost its compass?” David Daokui Li, professor at the Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management, Chandran Nair, founder of the Global Institute For Tomorrow, Jim Rogers, an international investor and author of the book “A gift to my children”, Hernando de Soto, president of the Institute for Liberty and Democracy (Lima) took part in the debates. The debate participants were divided into two groups to share their views on the following questions:

  • What changes will the Institute of Intellectual Property Rights undergo, aiming at the best use of new technologies?
  • How does privacy fit into this scheme?
  • What are the social implications of new cross-border relations between people?
  • What does this mean for businesses and consumers, employers and employees, the public sector and the corporate world?

The CEO Summit participants and media representatives watched over the debates. The broadcasting of debates was provided by the APEC International Press Center and Russia Today TV channel. ABC TV channel made available the recorded transmission of televised debates.

600 journalists, 5500 thousand news reports

The APEC CEO Summit was highly praised by the APEC economic leaders, heads of ministries and agencies, sponsors and participants. More than 600 journalists, representing the Russian and foreign media, took part in the APEC CEO Summit. More than 5500 information reports, publications and interviews summarizing the results of the Summit were released


The information support was rendered by 27 media partners, including TV channels (Russia-24, CNN, CNBC, Russia Today, RBC), radio stations (Voice of Russia, Business FM), news agencies (Reuters, Interfax, Prime), newspapers (America Economia, Financial Times, Kommersant, Rossiyskaya Gazeta, Izvestia, Moscow News, The Moscow Times), magazines (Time, Fortune, Forbes, Expert);a recruiting portal Head Hunter, the Runet largest search engine and portal Yandex.
