Mitsubishi Motors Corporation introduced its new product, the third-generation Mitsubishi Outlander mid-size crossover at the Moscow International Auto Show. Polylog PR provided media support services at the company’s exhibition stand while presenting a new model. More than 1000 journalists from leading federal and regional media attended the event.
The model was officially presented by Mitsubishi Motors Corporation’s president Osamu Masuko and ROLF Import Company’s CEO Andrey Pankov. In his speech, Mr Osamu Masuko said that “the Russian market continues to remain one of the top priorities for Mitsubishi Motors Corporation. Russia has become the first country in the world where we started selling the third-generation Mitsubishi Outlander. Starting from November 2012, the new model will be assembled in the joint venture of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation and PSA Peugeot Citroen in Kaluga”.
In addition to the third-generation Mitsubishi Outlander, a new long-sought model, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation presented its first serial electric vehicle Mitsubishi i-MiEV, the only one for sale in Russia. Today, more than 80 electric vehicles have been sold in the Russian Federation.
Commenting on the development of electric vehicle strategy in Mitsubishi Motors Corporatiom, Mr Osamu Masuko said: “The development of electric vehicle market is an important goal which Mitsubishi Motors Corporation sets in the Russian market.
The launch of a new electric vehicle, along with the development of the product line in Russia by introducing Mitsubishi Pajero Sport model in 2013 is are the important step towards the realization of our plan “Project 15”, which implies 150,000 cars increase in annual sales in Russia to by 2015.
"New Mitsubishi Outlander has become a welcome novelty in the Russian market. Within one month and a half we have concluded more than 6.078 contracts for a car that has only recently started to come into our dealerships”, said Andrey Pankov. We hope that next year the launch of electric vehicles with extended cruising range, created on the basis of the new Mitsubishi Outlander, will further strengthen our position in the SUV segment. It will contribute to further market development of electric vehicles in Russia”.
